Our sustainable extension and renovation project at Lantern Terrace in Driffield, East Yorkshire is continuing to progress with new steelwork, delicate brickwork walls and roof finishes coming together with the bi-folding doors expected next week.
The project reconfigures a victorian terrace house, building on the existing qualities of the home with the addition of a lanterned extension enhancing the home’s natural light, thermal performance and spatial organisation of the characterful family home.
Through the careful coordination of sub-contractors and frequent distanced meetings with our client, main contractor and our team have managed to keep steady progress through the lockdown and we aim to reach a complete shell within the week.
The new lanterned sun room not only brings in great levels of natural light and air but also connects the kitchen, garden and existing living area all of which were previously separate areas.
The project is made using reclaimed brickwork and a lightweight timber frame to keep the projects embodied carbon as low as possible.
